At work · Ayub used this very practice to spot macro super-cycles on the trading desk.
Reactivity is a kind of nearness — pulled into the surface of an event, you lose the distance to see it. The dragon keeps its altitude, and from that height the storm is smaller and finally legible. To watch a thought without being conscripted by it is to discover a self that is not the reaction.
This is the difference between trading the candle and trading the cycle. From elevation you hold a position through the drawdown, separate structural signal from noise, and act on the super-cycle that peers caught in the moment cannot yet see.
A teaching, the dragon-mind poem, observation, and super-cycles.
